Hanukkah doesn’t start until sundown Dec. 20, but Jewish groups are already announcing celebrations for the Festival of Light. Here’s what we have so far. I’ll add others as they come in. — James D. Davis
Three decades of Hanukkah
Jewish singer Benny Friedman will headline the 32nd annual South Florida Chassidic Chanukah Festival, 7 p.m. Dec. 26 at Gulfstream Park, U.S. 1 and Hallandale Beach Boulevard, Hallandale.
Also planned for the event will be Chassidic Acrobats from France and singer Yisroel Amar of Golden Beach, Fla., plus the lighting of a huge menorah.
Preceding the festival will be a 100-car menorah parade, starting from Yeshivah Gedolah in Miami Beach, headquarters of Florida’s Chabad Lubavitch movement.
